I am a 37-year-old explorer living in Vancouver, Canada. I earned a B.Sc. (Computer Science) from UBC in 1992 and a BFA (Photography) from Emily Carr in 2006. In between I have worked for NeXT Computers, Apple Computers, The Haven Institute, and various other organizations. At the moment I am pursuing my twin passions: art and mentorship.
I'm racing to extinction because I have no choice — it's the only exit in the room. Many people live their lives cautiously, as though their goal is to last as long as possible. I disagree. I do not know how or when I will step out of this life, and at the end I will judge myself not by how long I survived but rather by how far I travelled. And so I run.
